South Korea's ISU Petasys (KRX: 007660),a leading manufacturer specializing in ultra-high-layer printed circuit boards (PCBs), will showcase its next-generation PCB technologies for AI semiconductors at the 2025 Korea ICT Convergence Expo (ITCE 2025), held from October 22 to 25 at Daegu EXCO.
The company will present advanced multilayer boards (MLBs) designed for AI data centers and automated factories, targeting high-performance semiconductor applications such as CPUs, GPUs, and HBM memory modules.
ISU Petasys holds a global leadership position in manufacturing PCBs with 18 or more layers, ranking first worldwide by revenue among producers in this segment. The company is also the only Korean manufacturer capable of mass-producing ultra-high multilayer PCBs exceeding 30 layers — a critical component for AI servers, accelerators, and networking equipment that require high data throughput and signal integrity.
The company recently secured a key role in South Korea's AI Factory Project, led by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. In partnership with the Korea Textile Machinery Research Institute, ISU Petasys will invest KRW 10.6 billion (about USD 7.45 million or CNY 53.04 million) over five years — including KRW 6 billion (about USD 4.21 million or CNY 30.02 million) in government funding — to develop autonomous manufacturing technologies for ultra-high-layer PCBs used in AI accelerators.
Driven by the global surge in AI infrastructure investment, ISU Petasys is on track to achieve over KRW 1 trillion (about USD 702 million or CNY 5.00 billion) in annual sales for the first time in its history this year. In 2024, the company reported KRW 642.9 billion (about USD 451.8 million or CNY 3.22 billion) in revenue and KRW 116.6 billion (about USD 81.9 million or CNY 583.4 million) in operating profit, its best performance to date. In the second quarter of 2025, sales and operating profit rose 18% and 53% year-on-year, respectively, fueled by strong demand for AI-related PCBs, which now account for around 70% of total revenue.
Although its products are priced 20–30% higher than Chinese competitors, ISU Petasys has earned the trust of global big tech clients thanks to its technological reliability and consistent product quality. "When customers begin developing new products, they count on us for stable support," said CEO Choi Chang-bok, emphasizing the company's leadership in AI accelerator and data center substrates.
To meet rising demand, ISU Petasys is expanding production at its Dalseong 5 plant in Daegu, which broke ground in November 2024. Once completed in 2027, the new facility will double current production capacity, supporting the company's target of KRW 1.5 trillion (about USD 1.05 billion or CNY 7.51 billion) in sales and KRW 200 billion (about USD 140.5 million or CNY 1.00 billion) in operating profit by 2028.
"The AI data center market differs from traditional IT and mobile sectors," Choi said. "We plan to advance next-generation PCB technologies and strengthen our position as a global top-tier supplier."
The ITCE 2025, now in its 20th year, will be held jointly with the Future Innovation Technology Expo (FIX 2025) and is co-hosted by Daegu City, EXCO, The Electronic Times, and KOTRA. More than 130 leading ICT companies and organizations will participate, highlighting Korea's growing role as a hub for digital innovation and advanced electronics.
