Ukraine Targets Russian PCB and Electronics Hub Near Moscow in Drone Strike

In the early hours of June 12, Ukraine's Armed Forces launched a drone strike on the Rezonit Technopark in Zubovo, Moscow Region—one of Russia's key electronics manufacturing hubs supporting its defense industry. The attack, confirmed by Ukraine's General Staff, targeted a facility specializing in printed circuit boards (PCBs) and high-precision microelectronics used in advanced Russian missile and drone systems.

Located approximately 40 kilometers from central Moscow, the Rezonit site was described as a “high-value target” by Andrii Kovalenko of Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council. The facility produces multilayer PCBs, flexible and rigid-flex boards, and critical components for Iskander, Kalibr, and Kh-101 missiles, as well as Orlan-10, Lancet, and Kub drones, and artillery guidance systems.

The Ukrainian military said the strike was carried out by its Unmanned Systems Forces, with support from other defense units. Video footage circulating online appears to show explosions and smoke at the site around 4:00 a.m. local time. Ukrainian officials also reported that the incident temporarily disrupted operations at Vnukovo and Sheremetyevo airports.

Ukraine's General Staff emphasized that the operation was part of ongoing efforts to degrade Russia's high-tech weapons manufacturing capacity. “Our defense forces will continue taking all necessary measures to undermine the enemy's military and economic potential,” it stated.

Meanwhile, Russia's Defense Ministry claimed it had intercepted 52 Ukrainian drones overnight, including three over Moscow Region, but did not confirm any damage to the Rezonit facility. Local officials had not publicly commented at the time of writing.

Rezonit is regarded as one of the largest PCB producers in Russia and a critical player in its military-industrial complex. The facility's potential disablement may pose a serious disruption to Russia's ability to produce and sustain advanced weapons systems.
