On Sep. 12, two PCB manufacturers, Isu Petasys and STEMCO, were named among the "2025 Best Job-Creation Companies in Korea," an annual recognition program organized by the Ministry of Employment and Labor. The award honors 100 companies that excel in creating quality jobs, improving workplace conditions, and fostering stable labor relations.
Isu Petasys, part of the Isu Group, was recognized for hiring over 330 new employees between 2021 and 2024, with particular emphasis on expanding employment for youth and vulnerable groups. The company has consistently maintained government-recommended hiring levels for persons with disabilities. Its efforts in labor-management cooperation, non-strike policy, flexible work arrangements, family-friendly leave, horizontal organizational restructuring, merit-based fair hiring, and skills development were also highly praised. The company is currently undertaking a KRW 300 billion investment to build its fifth factory in Daegu, scheduled for completion in 2027, as part of its business expansion strategy.
STEMCO, Ltd. a joint venture between Japan's Toray and Samsung Electro-Mechanics and a specialist in high-density circuit films for semiconductor and display packaging, was recognized for the third time, having previously received the award in 2016 and 2019. The company produces Chip-On-Film (COF), Tape Carrier Package (TCP), and Chip-Scale Package (CSP) films, mainly used for driving ICs in LCD, PDP, and OLED panels.
Over the past two years, STEMCO has created more than 100 net new jobs through large-scale investments while implementing flexible work systems to support work-life balance. The company emphasized its commitment to workplace safety, labor-management harmony, and sustainable employment practices as key factors in earning the recognition. Leveraging Samsung Electro-Mechanics' technical expertise and Toray's leadership in chemical materials, STEMCO has established international competitiveness and strategically supports Samsung's display business.
Executives from both companies stressed that sustainable growth depends on talent development and continuous investment in people, reaffirming their commitment to creating high-quality jobs for the next generation.
