Trump Hosts Historic Silicon Valley Dinner with 33 Tech Leaders, $600 Billion AI Investment Announced

President Donald Trump hosted a high-profile White House dinner on Thursday, bringing together 33 of Silicon Valley’s most influential figures, including Sam Altman, Mark Zuckerberg, Tim Cook, and Bill Gates. The event highlighted the tech industry’s strategic realignment with the Trump administration on AI and technology policies, with attendees collectively announcing hundreds of billions in U.S. investment commitments. Notably absent were Elon Musk and Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, who opted out of public gatherings for personal and strategic reasons.

The gathering, held in the newly renovated Rose Garden following an AI education summit chaired by First Lady Melania Trump, included CEOs from major technology companies, venture capitalists, and government officials. Thirteen billionaires attended, with the remainder mostly valued in the tens of millions, making it one of the wealthiest gatherings in White House history.

Attendees used the occasion to emphasize collaboration with the administration, seeking favorable regulatory conditions and government contracts while positioning for the AI boom. Mark Zuckerberg announced that Meta will invest $600 billion in U.S. AI and data center infrastructure through 2028. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman thanked the administration for supporting the $500 billion Stargate Project in partnership with SoftBank and Oracle, noting a recent $200 million AI contract from the Department of Defense. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella praised policies supporting U.S. leadership in AI, while Apple CEO Tim Cook and other executives reiterated commitments to domestic investment.

The dinner marked a notable shift in Silicon Valley’s relationship with the Trump administration. Once contentious, the engagement reflects recognition that strategic cooperation aligns with business interests amid intensifying global technology competition.
