South Korean PCB titans slash corporate taxes - one pays zero

Daeduck, a listed PCB company on the KOSPI exchange (353200), paid 2.998 billion Korean won (approximately 16 million RMB) in corporate taxes for 2023, a 95% decrease from 60.6 billion Korean won in 2022. The main reason for the reduction in corporate taxes was the 31% drop in sales to 909.65 billion Korean won (approximately 4.706 billion RMB) from 1316.16 billion Korean won (approximately 6.809 billion RMB) in 2022. Net profit also decreased by 86% to 25.38 billion Korean won (approximately 0.131 billion RMB).

Another South Korean listed PCB company, Simmtech (KOSDAQ:222800), reported sales of 1,041.9 billion Korean won (approximately 5.39 billion RMB) in 2023, a 38.62% decrease from 1,697.45 billion Korean won (approximately 8.78 billion RMB) in 2022. The company incurred a net loss of 115.14 billion Korean won (approximately 0.6 billion RMB) and paid zero Korean won in corporate taxes for 2023.
