On August 7, Simmtech (KOSDAQ: 222800), a South Korea–based specialist in printed circuit boards (PCBs) for semiconductors, returned to profitability in Q2 2025, driven by rising demand for high-value products aimed at the artificial intelligence (AI) and high-performance graphics markets.
The company reported an operating profit of 5.5 billion won ($4.0 million) for the April–June period, compared with a loss in the previous quarter, while revenue rose 12% quarter-on-quarter to 340.8 billion won. Simmtech attributed the turnaround to a strategic shift toward higher-margin offerings, particularly substrates for GDDR7 memory.
Revenue from its high-density MSAP (Modified Semi-Additive Process) product line climbed 15% from the previous quarter to 196.3 billion won, driven by strong sales of GDDR7 and system IC substrates. The module PCB segment also maintained solid growth, supported by steady demand for server and SSD applications and new sales of SoCAMM high-performance memory modules.
Looking ahead, Simmtech expects third-quarter revenue to reach 359.4 billion won and operating profit to surge to 23.2 billion won, representing quarter-on-quarter increases of 5% and 322%, respectively. The company aims to consolidate its early lead in the GDDR7 and SoCAMM markets as sales ramp up in the second half.
“With GDDR7 and SoCAMM products entering full-scale production, we expect to further strengthen our market leadership and technological edge,” a company spokesperson said. “In the second half, we will build on this first-mover advantage to drive long-term revenue growth and profitability.”
