People & Technology MS Inc (PNTMS, KOSDAQ: 257370), a subsidiary of South Korea's secondary battery separator equipment maker PNT, has announced that its board has approved the absorption of PCB process automation equipment maker SunviTech. The merger ratio is set at 62.5042510:1, with the effective date scheduled for December 2. PNTMS will remain as the surviving entity.

Founded in 2001 in Daegu, SunviTech has grown into a specialist in PCB automation and advanced inspection equipment, with an average annual revenue of about KRW 16 billion over the past three years.

PNTMS said the deal is part of its strategy to expand beyond separator equipment by combining its precision plating expertise with SunviTech's PCB equipment value chain. The company plans to leverage the integration to advance into PCB substrate and glass substrate plating businesses.

“High-end PCBs and glass substrates are essential in the AI era," said PNTMS CEO Joon-Sub Kim. “By combining AI inspection with precision automation, we aim to enhance manufacturing efficiency, strengthen R&D collaboration, and improve competitiveness."

Following the merger, both companies will retain their respective CEOs and maintain existing business units while establishing a turnkey structure for streamlined proposals and specifications. The combined entity also plans to accelerate new customer acquisition and expand participation in overseas exhibitions.
