On December 18 local time, South Korean company LG Innotek (KRX: 011070) began mass production of FC-CSP package substrates for South Korean memory chipmaker SK hynix (KRX: 00066)'s GDDR7 graphics DRAM, according to industry sources.

The supply marks LG Innotek’s first direct business with SK hynix and a strategic expansion beyond its traditional focus on system semiconductor substrates. Commercial shipments are expected to translate into memory-related substrate revenue starting in the first half of next year.

For SK hynix, the addition of LG Innotek strengthens substrate supply stability as GDDR7 production scales. The company began mass production of GDDR7 in the third quarter of last year and has previously sourced FC-CSP substrates from domestic suppliers including Simmtech and Daeduck Electronics.
