Leading PCB Maker Compeq Expands LEO Satellite and AI Server Business, Eyes Next Growth Phase

Leading Taiwanese PCB manufacturer Compeq Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (2313.TW) has been developing printed circuit boards for low-earth orbit (LEO) satellites for nearly a decade. In 2025, the company welcomed its second satellite customer, which successfully launched multiple batches of LEO satellites this year, bringing the total number of satellites in orbit to over 100.

Compeq's early investment in satellite PCB research and production has positioned it as a key player in the global LEO satellite supply chain. With its second customer ramping up satellite deployment and new production capacity coming online, the company expects its revenue from satellite-related PCBs to remain strong, while product mix optimization will further enhance profitability.

Beyond satellite applications, Compeq is also accelerating its expansion into the artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure market. The company is now capable of supplying customers with server and switch boards featuring more than 50 layers, as well as 8-layer HDI OAM (accelerator) cards. Leveraging its industry-leading HDI technology, Compeq has attracted several major international clients seeking advanced PCB solutions for high-speed, high-density AI systems.

As global demand for AI infrastructure continues to surge, the need for high-performance PCBs in servers, switches, and optical transceivers has grown rapidly. These applications require not only higher layer counts and upgraded materials but also more advanced HDI structures to meet the power and data transmission demands of AI computing.

Compeq emphasized that its strong HDI capabilities and geographically diversified production network will provide strategic advantages in the OAM accelerator card, AI server, 800G and beyond switch, and advanced optical communication (including optical modules and co-packaged optics) segments. Although revenue contributions from these sectors are still relatively small, shipments have already doubled, and the company expects these products to become major growth drivers once new capacity comes fully online.
