Gigavis Secures KRW 6 Billion Equipment Deal with Greater China-Based Substrate Maker

South Korean semiconductor inspection and repair equipment specialist Gigavis (KOSDAQ: 420770) announced on May 19, 2025, that it has signed a KRW 6 billion (approximately USD 4.3 million or CNY 31 million) supply contract with a semiconductor packaging substrate manufacturer (a type of high-end PCB used in chip packaging) based in Greater China.

According to the company, the agreement involves the delivery of three equipment types—AOI (automated optical inspection), AOR (automated optical repair), and VRS (visual review systems)—used to improve quality control, yield, and process management for FC-BGA (flip-chip ball grid array) substrates, a high-value component in semiconductor packaging.

This latest deal follows two major contracts signed with Japanese clients earlier this year. On March 4, 2025, Gigavis announced a KRW 11.4 billion (approximately USD 8.2 million or CNY 59 million) contract with a Japanese substrate manufacturer, representing 12.47% of its 2023 revenue. Later, on April 22, 2025, the company signed another deal worth KRW 2.8 billion (approximately USD 2 million or CNY 14.5 million) , or 10.62% of its 2024 revenue, to supply repair equipment to a separate Japanese client. Due to confidentiality agreements, both companies remain unnamed.

Gigavis emphasized that the new Greater China deal was not driven by new technology or client acquisition, but rather by the customer's continued confidence in the company's proven capabilities. The company expects the contract to contribute to stable revenue growth and help expand its footprint across Asia.

A company spokesperson stated, “This contract is a result of the trust built with our existing customer and demonstrates the recognition of our technology and quality in the global semiconductor market. We will continue to strengthen our position in Asia by collaborating with key customers.”

Gigavis reported KRW 26.1 billion in revenue for FY2024, along with a net profit of KRW 3.4 billion, despite a 71.4% year-on-year revenue decline and an operating loss of KRW 1.7 billion. The company continues to pursue growth in the high-value semiconductor inspection and repair segment through its proprietary equipment offerings.
