Fatal Fall at South Korean Semiconductor Plant Construction Site Under Investigation

At approximately 6:40 p.m. on June 27, a fatal accident occurred at a semiconductor plant construction site in the Godeok Industrial Complex in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. A man in his 50s, identified only as Mr. A, fell from a height of 8 meters and later died from his injuries.

Mr. A was employed by a subcontractor involved in the ongoing construction of the facility, which serves as a key production base for a major global wafer manufacturer. According to reports, the incident took place as he was descending from an upper level after completing his assigned tasks. Emergency services were called immediately, and he was transported to a nearby hospital. Despite resuscitation efforts, he succumbed to cardiac arrest approximately two hours later.

Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident, including whether safety protocols and site regulations were properly followed. Authorities are also examining if any negligence or oversight contributed to the incident.
